Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Local Government Unit of Calabanga in support of Technical Assistance Program for LGUs (TAP-LGU) on 13 April 2021.
TAP-LGU, an existing Extension program of the university, aims to reach out to the community and serve through sharing of technical experts and research-generated technologies.
Stated in the agreement, the two parties will collaborate to help farming families and fisherfolks in Calabanga.
CBSUA was represented by its President, Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, together with the Vice President for Research and Innovation, Dr. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez, and Calabanga Campus Administrator, Dr. Cornelio Funtanar.
President Naperi offered the research-based technologies of the University for adoption and innovation of farmers and fisherfolks to create livelihood and additional income for the community.
Municipal Mayor of Calabanga, Hon. Eduardo A. Severo, highlighted in his message the good partnership with CBSUA for the previous years.
Likewise, he stressed the support of his office for sustainability in the forthcoming projects with the CBSUA.
Members of Sangguniang Bayan represented by Vice Mayor of Calabanga, Hon. Victor De Villa, expressed support in the collaboration of two parties. Also present in the MOA signing were Extension Director, Prof. Vladimir R. Foronda, Research Director, Dr. Aries O. Ativo, CBSUA-Calabanga Extension Coordinator, Prof. Richard G. Castor, and other CBSUA faculty members.
