The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources officially opened its 2023 CANR Festival with the theme, “Institutionalizing life-long learning among students through worthwhile in-school activities,” on March 22, 2023, through a festive parade, street dancing competition, and opening program in front of the new CANR building.

The festival, headed by the Dean of the College, Marilyn B. Balderas, PhD, is a three-day activity that aims to showcase the strength of the College’s programs (BAT, BSAF, BSA). This year, the BS Agroforestry and Bachelor in Agricultural Technology were tasked as the host programs.

A seminar on “Hands-on Training in Plant Measurements” sponsored by the Digital Agriculture and Innovation Center, Extension Services Division under the supervision of Dr. Vladimir Foronda was conducted.

The three-day festival celebration was packaged to instill in the students the spirit of competition, cooperation, and camaraderie as they compete in different activities such as the trade fair, booth contest, street dancing, talent and skills competition. Also, members of the faculty from the different programs are to compete alongside the student representative/s of their programs in the CANR Got Talent to be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
