CBSUA BACKS GOAT FACILITY TURNOVER TO PILI HIGHLAND WOMEN COOP

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) strengthened its support for women farmers with the turnover of the Goat Production Facility from Fundación Religiosos para la Salud (FRS) to the Pili Highland Women Agriculture Cooperative in Sto. Niño, Pili, Camarines Sur on March 23, 2025.

CBSUA provided technical expertise and guidance throughout the project, including capacity-building activities, training on goat production and management, and ongoing support to ensure the cooperative could operate the facility efficiently. Faculty members also served as resource persons, sharing best practices and monitoring progress to further strengthen the cooperative’s operations.

The Pili Highland Women Agriculture Cooperative, organized with support from the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID), is composed of local women farmers dedicated to advancing goat production and agribusiness in the municipality. The turnover marks the cooperative’s transition to managing and expanding the facility independently, providing members with opportunities for entrepreneurship and local economic growth.

Representatives from FRS noted that the turnover aligns with their broader mission of promoting sustainable health and livelihood programs in rural communities. Cooperative leaders expressed their gratitude to FRS, AECID, and CBSUA, emphasizing that the facility will also serve as a learning site for agricultural entrepreneurship.

Local officials and stakeholders who also witnessed the turnover lauded the collaboration between international organizations, academic institutions, and community groups, noting that such partnerships are crucial in driving inclusive rural development and enhancing food security. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘌𝘚𝘋
