The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and Bicol University (BU) officially sealed a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between CBSUA–GENES and BU–RCSMED on January 28, 2026, in Legazpi City, reinforcing their joint commitment to advancing science and mathematics education in the Bicol Region.
Dr. Kennedy A. Beltran, Program Leader of CBSUA–GENES, represented CBSUA President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi in signing the agreement with BU President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III.
The signing was witnessed by key officials and program leaders from both institutions, including Dr. Melinda Parro-Pan, CBSUA Vice President for Academic Affairs, represented by Dr. Rey-Mark G. Basagre, Director of the Curriculum and Instruction Division; Dr. Dariel A. Palmiano, Vice President for Research and Innovation, represented by Dr. Mae SA. Lustre, Director for Research Services Division; and Dr. Lany L. Maceda, BU Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, represented by Dr. Marcia Corazon P. Rico, Director for Extension Management Division.
Also present were Ms. Abigail V. Guinoo, CBSUA Director of the Extension Services Division; Prof. Magnolia Vida A. Cano, Director of BU–RCSMED; and Prof. Mary Grace B. Polvoriza, Project Lead of CBSUA–GENES, together with faculty members and staff from both universities.
The collaboration brings together the expertise of CBSUA and BU to implement science education programs, training, learning modules, and community outreach initiatives responsive to the demands of the new normal.
