CBSUA FORGES PARTNERSHIP WITH CSCCI TO ADVANCE INDUSTRY-BASED CURRICULUM

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) formalized a strategic partnership with the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (CSCCI) through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on February 23, 2026, at the CBSUA Boardroom. This endeavor aims to develop an industry-based curriculum aligned with current societal demands.

The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was attended by the CBSUA President, the Vice President and Directors of the Office of the Vice President for Business and External Affairs, and the Dean and Program Chairperson of the College of Economics and Management. Also present at the ceremony were the incumbent officers of CSCCI, led by their President.

CSCCI President Ms. Regina V. Melchor expressed confidence that the collaboration will open meaningful opportunities for students, entrepreneurs, and the broader business community in the province. She emphasized the importance of bridging academia and industry to ensure a future-ready workforce.

A key challenge discussed was the declining student interest in agriculture. In response, stakeholders highlighted the need to promote its economic potential and strengthen students’ entrepreneurial and business management skills to help them succeed in the industry.

In his message, CBSUA President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi also highlighted the University’s need to enhance technological knowledge adaptation and to work closely with industry partners in identifying essential competencies that improve graduates’ employability.

Through this partnership, CBSUA and CSCCI aim to develop academic programs that are responsive to industry needs. This initiative will help strengthen collaboration between the academe and the business sector to produce competitive and industry-ready graduates.
