CBSUA HOLDS ASSEMBLY FOR RETIREES’ ASSOCIATION ESTABLISHMENT

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) welcomed its retirees in an assembly held today, October 30, 2025, at the Farmer’s Training Hall, Pili Campus, to prepare for the establishment of the CBSUA Retirees’ Association. The gathering served as a platform to reconnect with former employees and discuss the creation of an organization that will uphold their lasting bond with the university.

The proposed association aims to strengthen fellowship, continuous learning, and volunteerism among CBSUA retirees while fostering collaboration with the academic community. It also seeks to provide social and emotional support, promote wellness and cultural activities, recognize retirees’ contributions to the university’s growth, and create opportunities for them to remain engaged through mentorship and community involvement.

In his message, Atty. Dominador Faurillo emphasized the importance of forming the organization to maintain camaraderie and a close connection with CBSUA, as well as recognizing their valuable contribution to the institution. An open forum followed, during which retirees expressed their gratitude and full support for the initiative and shared their insights regarding the establishment of the association.

Meanwhile, Dr. Melinda Parro-Pan, Vice President for Academic Affairs and key proponent of the initiative, discussed the possibility of forming a Retirees’ Association core group that would include both teaching and non-teaching personnel. She emphasized that the association will serve as a form of “after-care” for CBSUA retirees, recognizing their lifelong service and contributions to the university.

The core members of the association conducted an election to determine the interim officers, during which Mr. Jesus Osea was elected as Interim President.

The assembly marks the first step toward formally organizing the CBSUA Retirees’ Association—an initiative that seeks to honor the legacy of former employees while fostering continued engagement within the university community.
