CBSUA INAUGURATES THREE FACILITIES TO ADVANCE AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION, VETERINARY EDUCATION, STUDENT DEVELOPMENT

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) inaugurated three new facilities on October 27, 2026, at the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub, expanding its capacity for agricultural research, veterinary education, and student development.

The newly inaugurated Agrivoltaic Farming Project, Vaccine Center, and The Hive Project are intended to support the University’s instruction, research, and service functions through facilities catering to different areas of academic and institutional development.

CBSUA President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi delivered the opening remarks during the inauguration, highlighting the University’s continued development of facilities supporting its academic and service functions.

Providing an overview of the facilities were Engr. Dulce Maria Abigail A. Jastio, PhD, Project Engineer of the Agrivoltaic Farming Project; Dr. Ilene B. Mirabeles, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine; and Dr. Jessel Anne P. Rodriguez, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services.

The ceremony also featured the unveiling, ribbon cutting, and blessing of the three facilities, with the participation of University Chaplain Rev. Fr. Bernard M. Lagatic and CBSUA officials.

The Agrivoltaic Farming Project explores the integration of agricultural production and solar energy generation to support sustainable farming research, while the Vaccine Center is expected to provide opportunities for veterinary training and vaccine-related activities. The Hive Project, meanwhile, is envisioned as a space for student engagement, collaboration, and activities beyond classroom instruction.
