The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) participated in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) High-Level Forum 2026, held on March 4 at The Peninsula Manila. Organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the event served as a critical gathering for regional leaders to address the evolving social landscape of Southeast Asia.
The forum convened ASCC ministers from the eleven ASEAN member states, joined by ASEAN Secretary-General H.E. San Lwin. Together, they shared actionable strategies designed to enhance social harmony and empower communities across the region. The sessions focused on fostering cross-pillar dialogue and promoting a culture of cross-border collaboration and co-creation. These strategic efforts are central to the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, a roadmap emphasized by H.E. Lwin during the proceedings.
Representing CBSUA was Dr. Raquel M. Reapor, Director of the Universityโs International Relations Office (IRO). Her attendance underscores the universityโs growing role in international discourse and its commitment to regional integration.
The forum concluded with a unified pledge that “no community will be left behind.” This commitment marks a shift in regional policy, aiming to transform citizens from passive beneficiaries into active co-creators of knowledge, policy, and innovation.
