CBSUA leads consultative meeting to implement Regional Project on Cacao Farming

Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) in partnership with Department of Agriculture Region V (DA ROV), Agriculture Training Institute (ATI), Local Government Units (LGUs), State Colleges and Universities (SUCs) conducted Consultative Meeting with cacao stakeholders in the region on 28 January 2021.
In support of “Strengthening Entrepreneurial and Networking Capacity of Farmers and Processors in Bicol Region, Philippines,” the activity aimed to gather and consult with major stakeholders including DA ROV , DA-ATI, DA-Albay, LGUs, SUC representatives, Cacao Farmer Cooperatives and Processors of the regional cacao industry to guide the project implementation. This is in connection with the collaborative research project with the University of Ghent represented by Dr. Hans de Steur and VLIROUS of Belgium.
Ms. Luz Marcelino spoke commitment on the project on behalf of Director, Hon. Rodel L. Tornilla. FOD, DA HVCDP Chief, Dr. Mary Grace DP. Rodriguez, presented the Situationer of Bicol Cacao Framing Industry. ATI Center Director, Dr. Elsa Parot also participated through a video message.
CBSUA in partnership with other promoters will lead the training of farmers and product development to aid the cacao farmers cooperatives and processors.
VP for Research and Innovation, Dr. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez serves as the Project Leader of this endeavor.
