CBSUA NSTP HOLDS DRRM TRAINING SEMINAR

On October 9, 2022, the CBSUA National Service Training Program (NSTP) under the VPAA Office headed by Dr. Ana E. Miraña, held the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Seminar at the Pili Campus.

The activity was spearheaded by the NSTP Director, Dr. Melchora V. Abonal, the University Commandant, COL. FEROZALDO PAUL T. REGENCIA (RES) PA, and the LTS and CWTS Coordinators, Ms. Christine Allen Riza N. Boncodin and Ms. Emilyn Mae C. Cernitchez, respectively.

The activity was in partnership with the Pili Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Philippine Army, and the Bureau of Fire Protection. Activities included practicing basic life support techniques, earthquake drills, fire drills, and rappelling.

The NSTP program’s dependable faculty facilitators made the activity possible. The participants were the first-year students enrolled in the various NSTP program components. The activity aimed to equip the students with adequate and appropriate skills that they can fall back on in times of emergency. An institution that has an adequate and appropriate disaster management plan, created using a participative method and correctly incorporated into the plans and policies of the community as a whole offers significant benefits.
