CBSUA-NSTP SPEARHEADS BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

The CBSUA (Central Bicol State University of Agriculture) witnessed a demonstration of
compassion and solidarity as the National Services Training Program (NSTP) organized a highly successful
blood donation drive on May 14, 2023.

Spearheaded by the three program components, the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), Literacy Training Service (LTS), and Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), the event drew active participation from 57 students who selflessly donated their blood to contribute to this life-saving cause.

Partnering with the Bicol Medical Center (BMC), the blood donation drive welcomed Mr. Joemy Carpio,
Nurse/Donor Recruitment Officer at the BMC Blood Bank. Mr. Carpio took the stage and delivered an
informative talk on the immense significance of blood within our bodies. He emphasized how blood
plays a vital role in sustaining life and the dire need for regular blood donations to meet medical
emergencies and transfusion requirements.

The event commenced with a warm welcome remark from Ms. Christine Allen Riza N. Boncodin, CWTS-
LTS Coordinator. Ms. Boncodin expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the students’  commitment to
giving back to the community through their blood donations. She highlighted the critical importance of
their selfless act, as it directly contributes to saving lives and bringing hope to those in need.

Under the careful supervision of trained medical professionals from the Bicol Medical Center, each
student underwent a comprehensive screening process to ensure their eligibility and suitability as blood
donors. Once cleared, the students proceeded to donate their blood, demonstrating their dedication to
making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Dr. Melchora V. Abonal, the Director of NSTP, delivered the closing message. Dr. Abonal acknowledged
the outstanding efforts of the students and emphasized the profound impact of their contributions. She
praised their unwavering dedication to the cause and encouraged them to continue engaging in such
noble endeavors that promote a healthier and more compassionate society.

The blood donation drive organized by CBSUA-NSTP program served as a catalyst for raising awareness
about the importance of blood donation. By collaborating with the Bicol Medical Center, the event not
only educated participants about the significance of their contributions but also facilitated the collection
of a substantial number of blood units that have the potential to save countless lives in the future. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘦𝘭 𝘙𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘴, 𝘕𝘚𝘛𝘗 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘺 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴
