CBSUA OVPRI, RESEARCH DIVISION, ESD, CEFS EMPOWER NIPAHOL TEAM THROUGH SEMINAR-WORKSHOP

In connection with the VPRI’s Nipahol project in partnership with MMSU-NBERIC (Mariano Marcos State University-National Bioethanol Research and Innovation Center), Dr. Fiorello Abenes, DOST Balik Scientist from MMSU, was invited to be the guest lecturer during the seminar-workshop on the Case for Nypa Fruticans as Feedstock for Bioethanol Production.

CBSUA is adopting their technology on bioethanol production using nipa fruticans as feedstock. Dr. Abenes is an expert in the Balik Scientist Program of DOST. He went to the University to promote the promise of nipa fruticans as a valuable resource in alcohol production and its value-added products. The lecture is also a capacity-building strategy for the CBSUA Nipahol team.

After the seminar-workshop, a site visit was conducted by the team in CBSUA Calabanga Campus and Nypa palm plantations and mangrove ecosystems in Balongay, Calabanga.
