Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi represented the university at the 59th Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) Annual Conference held from November 2 to 5, 2025, at the Centre des Congrès de Québec in Quebec City, Canada.
The CBIE Annual Conference, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Manila, is recognized as Canada’s premier event for international education, attracting over 1,300 participants from more than 50 countries, including institutional leaders, government officials, international education professionals, and global partners.
This year, the conference introduced International Partnerships Day, a key pre-conference event designed to promote targeted business-to-business (B2B) engagement through structured meetings between Canadian and international delegates. The event provided a vital platform for strengthening academic partnerships, expanding international networks, and fostering collaborative initiatives in higher education.
During the four-day conference, Dr. Naperi actively participated in various partnership-building activities, underscoring CBSUA’s commitment to advancing its internationalization initiatives. Among his notable accomplishments was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with RRC Polytech International Education in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to establish collaborative programs in academic development and global learning. He also forged partnerships with Bow Valley College in Calgary, Alberta, and the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, with all collaborations focusing on student mobility and faculty exchange programs aimed at enriching cross-cultural learning and academic excellence.
To sustain these partnerships, Dr. Naperi scheduled an online meeting on November 25, 2025, to further discuss the implementation of the collaborative programs and ensure their alignment with CBSUA’s goals for international engagement. His active involvement in the CBIE Annual Conference exemplifies the university’s strong pursuit of global collaboration and innovation in education.
CBSUA’s participation in the CBIE Annual Conference reflects its continued efforts to strengthen international linkages and optimize Canada-Philippines cooperation in higher education. Under Dr. Naperi’s leadership, the university remains steadfast in expanding opportunities for students and faculty to engage in global academic experiences, further positioning CBSUA as a leading institution in agricultural and international education.
