The OVPRI and Research Division of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture collaborated with the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau, Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia, and Vietnam National University of Agriculture, for the conduct of the 3rd International Conference on Education, Environment, and Agriculture on August 30-31, 2022 via Zoom Videoconferencing.

This year’s ICEEA 2022 has a theme, “Agri-Industrial Technology and E-Agriculture: Innovating Rural Development for the Future.” The first day of the said event started with the messages of the VP for Research and Innovation of the University, Dr. Ramona Isabel Ramirez. It was followed by the delivery of messages from the presidents and representatives of the four collaborating organizations and universities. Furthermore, plenary sessions were initiated by the invited speakers; Dr. Jonathan Aguilar from Kansas University, who talked about ‘Precision Irrigation,’ Dr. Sadhan Kumar Ghosh, who explained more about ‘Circular Economy in Sustainable Agri-waste Management for Environmental Protection,’ Dr. Siti Aekbal Salleh, who discussed ‘Empowering Citizen Based Geospatial Technology in Mitigating Climate Change Impacts,’ and Dr. Maria Ana T. Quimbo who talked through the soft skills in ‘Shaping the Workforce and Learning in Higher Education.’

Additionally, the second day of the event was comprised of the breakout sessions, which were classified into eight categories: three rooms for education, two rooms also for the environment, and three rooms for agriculture. The carefully chosen moderators and rapporteurs from the University facilitated the breakout sessions. The synthesis was streamlined by Dr. Celerino Llesol, Jr., the Campus Administrator of the Pili Campus. The event ended through the message delivered by the Research Director and overall chair of the ICEEA 2022, Dr. Aries O. Ativo.

The 4th International Conference on Education, Environment, and Agriculture in 2023 is already set to be planned by the RI Cluster.
