To maintain its ISO certification, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) is currently undergoing a rigorous first surveillance audit of its Quality Management System (QMS) under ISO 9001:2015. The three-day assessment, facilitated by TÜV Rheinland, runs from November 5 to 7, 2025, and covers all four CBSUA campuses in Pili, Calabanga, Pasacao, and Sipocot.
The TÜV Rheinland auditing team is composed of Ms. Maribeth Lucañas, Ms. Jogina Mendiola, Ms. Michelle Pestañas, and Mr. Rolando Remitar. The surveillance audit officially commenced today with an opening meeting held at the Alvaro Rabina Hall, where the auditors and university representatives discussed the audit objectives, audit plan, and procedures, and clarified the scope of certification.
Dr. Melinda Parro-Pan, VP for Academic Affairs and ISO Chairperson, expressed her gratitude to TÜV Rheinland for its continued support and guidance in the university’s quality assurance journey. Moreover, she thanked the university community for their dedication to ISO process compliance and for maintaining the processes that ensure continuous improvement in the university’s service delivery, aligned with its mandates, mission, and vision.
Following the opening meeting, the audit began with the Top Management, which includes the Office of the President and the Offices of the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, Research and Innovations, and Business and External Affairs, as well as the Campus Administrators from all campuses. The University Quality Assurance Office (QAO), led by Ms. Rose Lynor A. Matos, and the campuses’ internal auditors, led by Dr. Rosa Ubano-Cid, play a vital role in assisting both auditors and auditees with documentation and evidence requirements. In the afternoon of the first day, the audit continues at the CBSUA Calabanga Campus.
On the second day, the auditing team will conduct simultaneous assessments at the Sipocot and Pasacao Campuses, followed by the Pili Campus audit on the third day. The surveillance audit will culminate with a closing ceremony, during which the auditors will present their findings and recommendations.
