CBSUA WELCOMES CZECH AGRIBUSINESS EXPERT TO SUPPORT INNOVATION IN AGRICULTURE

Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) welcomed a visiting foreign expert during a courtesy call with University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi on January 13, 2026, at the Office of the President.

The guest, Mr. Jaroslav Hajn of the Czech Republic, is a co-owner of Inflore, a garden center and winery in his home country. With years of hands-on experience in agriculture and entrepreneurship, Mr. Hajn expressed his strong interest in sharing his knowledge with the CBSUA community, particularly with students and local farmers.

During the meeting, Mr. Hajn underscored the vital role of agriculture in ensuring food security and supporting rural development. He highlighted how modern techniques, innovation, and sound business practices can help small agricultural enterprises grow and remain competitive. He also shared insights on sustainable farming and the long-term benefits of blending traditional practices with eco-friendly, modern approaches.

The courtesy call marked the start of a meaningful exchange between CBSUA and an international practitioner in agribusiness. It aligns with the university’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Through visits like this, CBSUA continues to strengthen its role in promoting sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship, and global partnerships for development.
