To provide avenue for future research, extension and collaboration with Kyoto University in Japan, the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DAEn) and PSABE PPG CBSUA Chapter hold a Seminar on Development of Mechanized and Smart Farming Technologies last 2 October 2018 at Alvaro Rabina Hall, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture.
Kyoto University Professor Emeritus, Dr. Mikio Umeda served as the guest speaker for the event discussing the mechanization in the Agricultural sector in Japan.
Smart farming, based on the incorporation of information and communication technologies into the machinery, equipment and sensors in agricultural production system, allows a large volume of data and information to be generated with progressive insertion of automation into the process.
College of Engineering and Food Science and College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences faculty- researchers, farmers of the locality, Agricultural Technician and Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering students participated in the said activity.
