The National Service Training Program (NSTP)–Pili Office of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) successfully conducted a joint assembly on November 22, 2025, bringing together two key initiatives that reinforce the university’s commitment to national service and community resilience. These initiatives were: “Beyond ROTC Graduation: Mobilizing MS1 & MS2 Graduates for the Activation of the School-Based Ready Reserve Unit (SRRU)” and National Service Reserve Corps–Tinig ng Inisyatibo Para sa Aksyon ng Nasyonalismo (NSRC-TIPAN), which formally organized NSTP graduates into the National Service Reserve Corps.
Held in celebration of the 44th National Reservist Month and in compliance with Republic Act 9163 (NSTP Act of 2001), the activity gathered ROTC, CWTS, and NSTP graduates currently enrolled in CBSUA to officially organize them into their respective reserve units. The SRRU initiative enhances the mobilization of ROTC graduates as a trained reserve force aligned with AFP RESCOM directives, while NSRC-TIPAN ensures that CWTS completers are recognized as civic volunteers ready to support community service, literacy programs, and disaster response efforts.
Participants received an orientation on the legal mandates, roles, and mobilization mechanisms of both the SRRU and NSRC, underscoring their significance in national defense readiness, civic engagement, and disaster risk reduction under RA 10121. Assembly sessions were also held to establish leadership structures for new members, accompanied by the creation of an initial member database to support future deployment, training, and volunteer activities. This milestone aligns with CBSUA’s BOR Resolution No. 50 (s. 2024) on hands-on instruction and advances the university’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 13, 11, and 16).
The successful conduct of the activity marks a significant stride for CBSUA in empowering its NSTP graduates.
