The Fundación de Religiosos para la Salud (FRS) and the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) successfully implemented the Training on Food Processing on June 10–11, 2025, at CBSUA Pili, Camarines Sur.
The activity was participated in by the women’s cooperative DELP Angat Kababaihan Producers Cooperative from Del Rosario and La Purisima, Pili, Camarines Sur. It aimed to provide participants with knowledge and skills on how to process different kinds of chips (banana, camote, cassava, and taro), as well as the preparation of pastillas and espasol.
During the two-day training, participants engaged in hands-on activities and followed the step-by-step processes of making chips, pastillas, and espasol. The CBSUA faculty expert from the College of Engineering and Food Science, Anna Mae Gavarra, and Department of Agriculture–Regional Food Laboratory Technical Staff, Ian Darrell Bordon, served as resource persons.
