The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) supported the launch of Project UNITED (Unifying Nurturing Initiatives for Transformed Education and Development) of Tagbong Elementary School on September 9, 2026, at Tagbong Elementary School, Pili East District, Camarines Sur.
Project UNITED seeks to improve learners’ literacy and numeracy through the participation of the school, parents, local government, community, and other stakeholders. The initiative brings together six projects: Project INSPIRE, Project TEACH, Project READERS, Project ARA READ, Project DOCUMATH, and Project PRAISE.
Representing CBSUA were Assoc. Prof. Karen B. Perez, Dean of the College of Development Education, and Asst. Prof. Abigail V. Guinoo, Director of the Extension Services Division. Both also represented the University in the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Tagbong Elementary School and other partner stakeholders.
The launch gathered Cyril Rariza Salazar, PhD, Public Schools District Supervisor; Maricel S. Villar, SPTA President; Larry V. Collada, President of the Tagbong Elementary School Alumni Association; Hon. Babylyn A. Rivera, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson; Hon. Anjo Basagre, Barangay Committee Chairperson on Education; Hon. Reynaldo A. Corporal, Punong Barangay of Tagbong; and Hon. Maria Roxan R. Nayles, LGU-Pili Committee Chairperson on Education.
Hon. Marivic B. Solano, Municipal Mayor of Pili, also attended the activity and turned over three Smart TVs to Tagbong Elementary School. The equipment will be used as additional learning resources for classroom instruction and literacy, numeracy, and technology-assisted activities.
