ENESIO PAYS COURTESY CALL ON UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT AFTER PIONEERING BELGIUM ERASMUS+ EXCHANGE

Mark B. Enesio, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry (BSAF) student at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Sipocot, paid a courtesy call to University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi following his participation in a prestigious international exchange program. Enesio represented the Environmental Science and Agroforestry Programs under the College of Criminology at VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Roeselare, Belgium, on September 16, 2025 until January 23, 2026, as part of the Erasmus+ initiative—a flagship program of the European Union that champions global academic excellence.

During his time abroad, Enesio enrolled in the Green Management and Biotechnology program, undertaking a rigorous 30-ECTS curriculum that seamlessly blends environmental science with advanced technology. His coursework included an intensive internship at the VIVES Urban Laboratory and specialized modules in Urban Tree Care, Urban Tree Planning, Field Explorations, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Sustainability, and Community Engagement.

This innovative curriculum reflects a sophisticated fusion of silvicultural knowledge and technological innovation, equipping Enesio with invaluable expertise in Urban Tree Management. As the Philippines grapples with the challenges of rapid urbanization and climate change, Enesio’s training offers timely insights and solutions. “My experience in Belgium is not just an academic milestone—it is a mission to acquire advanced sustainable practices and GIS mapping skills that I plan to bring back to our local communities,” Enesio shared. He expressed eagerness to translate his international exposure into localized, impactful solutions benefiting CBSUA and the broader Philippine agroforestry sector.

The courtesy visit was facilitated by Dr. Raquel M. Reapor, University International Relations Office Director, and Dr. Vladimir Foronda, the program’s focal person and coordinator at VIVES University. The university hailed Enesio’s achievements as a testament to CBSUA’s commitment to global academic partnerships and sustainable development. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘋𝘳. 𝘙𝘢𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘭 𝘔.
