The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) strengthened its preparations for its upcoming ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) audit through a three-day Internal Auditors Training-Workshop held on February 18, 23, and 24 at the Farmerโs Training Hall and CND Hall of the Pili Campus. Organized by the Quality Assurance Office, the activity aimed to enhance the competencies of designated internal auditors and ensure that university units are well-prepared to support the implementation and evaluation of the EMS.
The training featured a series of lectures and workshops on key auditing processes, including internal audit management, audit reporting, environmental and climate-related aspects in EMS, root cause analysis, and the preparation of audit checklists. Participants also engaged in a mock audit exercise, competency validation, and assessment to strengthen their understanding of the audit process and the proper documentation of audit findings.
The activity concluded with a discussion on the way forward for the conduct of internal audits within the university. Through initiatives such as this training-workshop, CBSUA continues to reinforce its internal quality assurance mechanisms and uphold its commitment to effective environmental management and continuous institutional improvement.
