CBSUA JOINS UPLAND GREEN CANOPY PLANNING

Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) participated in the Multi-Sectoral Planning Workshop for the Upland Green Canopy and Livelihood Program on March 24, 2026, at the NCPC, JMR Coliseum, Naga City, in coordination with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), City Agriculture Office (CAgO), and City Planning and Development Office (CPDO).

The workshop focused on strengthening tree-growing and environmental restoration initiatives in upland barangays while identifying sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities. Discussions highlighted strategies that integrate environmental protection, climate change mitigation, and income-generating activities to ensure long-term community resilience.

Representing CBSUA, Dr. Emerson L. Bergonio of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) shared insights on agroforestry principles and practices that support sustainable land use in upland areas. He was joined by Abigail V. Guinoo, Director of the Extension Services Division (ESD); Dr. Melchora Abonal, Director of the Vetiver Center; and Jean Dalagan Magbalot, Program Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry.
