CBSUA HONORS FACULTY, STUDENT INNOVATORS IN FIRST COPYRIGHT AWARDING CEREMONY

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) recognized faculty members and students who successfully secured copyright certificates from the National Library of the Philippines during its first-ever Copyright Awarding Ceremony held on June 30, 2026, at the Ciriaco N. Divinagracia Hall.

Organized by the Research Publication Office (RPO) and the Research Services Division (RSD) through the Writing and Publication Support Unit (WPSU), the ceremony featured the presentation of copyrighted works and the awarding of copyright certificates to faculty and student innovators whose original outputs, including research papers, instructional materials, training designs, and manuals were formally registered for copyright protection.

Vice President for Research and Innovation Dr. Dariel A. Palmiano underscored the importance of making knowledge accessible and beneficial to the wider community, emphasizing that “shared knowledge is power.” He said the University remains committed to continuously sharing knowledge with the communities it serves.

University officials also highlighted the role of intellectual property protection in advancing research and innovation. Messages were delivered by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Melinda P. Pan, Editorial Board and Publication Director Imari Meryl S. Roxas, Graduate School Dean Dr. Kennedy A. Beltran, and Knowledge Management Office Director Shela V. Ruiz.

Meanwhile, Marlene A. Ramos, Director of the Research Publication Office and Head of the Writing and Publication Support Unit, presented an overview of the University’s copyright registration initiative, highlighting the assistance provided by the RPO, RSD, and WPSU in facilitating the copyright registration of faculty members, researchers, and students with the National Library of the Philippines.
