The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), through its extension program, conducted a Training on Cardboard Making Using Rice Straw for women farmers on July 7, 2026, at the private farm of Ms. Jasmin Nacional in Minoro, San Jose, Camarines Sur.
Designed to promote the productive use of agricultural waste, the training introduced participants to the process of converting rice straw into cardboard through lectures and practical demonstrations. The activity also showcased an alternative use of rice straw that may be explored for livelihood.
Project Leader Lourdes Lobis-Nieva spearheaded the activity together with project members Lourdes Bascuña and Salvacion Eje, with Grace Santelices, Municipal Agricultural Officer of San Jose, Camarines Sur, also in attendance.
