The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Regional Office V met on July 6, 2026, to discuss a proposed partnership that will promote sustainable rice production among agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) through the implementation of the GOPALAY Program.
The discussion focused on the proposed extension initiative, which aims to encourage the adoption of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) by providing farmers with technical training, capacity-building activities, and access to appropriate technologies that support sustainable and climate-resilient rice production.
Representing DAR Region V was Ms. Lerma B. Dino, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer of the Program Beneficiaries Development Division. Representing CBSUA were Joel S. Balindan of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Lily John B. Casimiro and Cynthia Dimayuga of the College of Development Education; and Buster Ibarbia on behalf of Jayson M. Dañas, EdD, Director of the Technology Commercialization and Promotions Division.
Once implemented, the GOPALAY Program will provide agrarian reform beneficiaries with training and technical assistance on the System of Rice Intensification (SRI), helping farmers adopt improved rice production practices through CBSUA’s extension services and DAR Region V’s community programs. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘦 𝘎.
