CBSUA, UNRAM INTENSIFY COLLABORATION THROUGH RESEARCH, EXTENSION INITIATIVE COOPERATION; AGREE WITH STUDENT AND FACULTY EXCHANGE PROGRAM

On November 29, 2022, delegates from CBSUA conducted research and extension presentations for collaboration, showcased cultural dance performances, and attended a business meeting with Universitas Mataram (UNRAM) rector and key officials.

The faculty members from CBSUA presented their research and extension initiatives to the faculty members of UNRAM. This is to seek the possibility of creating collaborative tasks in conducting the said research and extension activities. The lecture presentation titled “Resilient Pedagogy: Cutting-edge Strategy in the New Instructional Age” was presented by Ms. Bessy Bare-Ronda. While the “Trends in Agriculture: The Case of Agritourism in Bicol Philippines” was discussed by Ms. Lea Pacao. The proposal on “ Internationalization Initiatives of Guidance and Counseling Program in DepEd, CBSUA, and UNRAM” was proposed by Ms. Leizle Manacob. A research on the “Parental Involvement in Selected Central Schools of Camarines Sur” was elaborated by Dr. Michael Nolasco; he said he would willingly assist the faculty members who would like to duplicate his research. The discussion on the research titled “Language Learning Mechanisms in the New Instructional Age” was administered by Ms. Aiza Cayetano. At the same time, the paper dubbed “Celebrating the River: Festivals, Ceremonies, and other activities associated with Bicol River – An Inventory” and “Pinaggikanan” extension project were introduced by Ms. Ana Vera Hugo. Lastly, the paper entitled “Farm Families Community Extension Program” was presented by Ms. Mary Grace Polvoriza.

The students, together with Dr. Maria Carla Baduya, performed “Alitaptap” and “Itik Itik” Filipino dances during the Webinar Nasional sponsored by UNRAM.

Ms. Cristia Shiena Amparo, an instructor of the ICTP also had the chance to meet and speak with her students at the University of Mataram. The exchange students namely Shane Demen, Leonil Bisana, Elysia Kaye Brusas, Pierre Carlo Cielo, and Catherine Millapre also had the chance to mingle with their teachers at the same university.

During the business meeting in the afternoon with the rector of UNRAM, Prof. Bambang Hari Kusumo, both parties initially agreed to tentatively send faculty and students for an offline exchange program set to begin next year. The delegates were elated with the warm welcome and affirmation of the faculty members and key officials to the proposals and initiatives they put forward.
