CBSUA WELCOMES BSU STUDENT TEACHER INTERNS

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture gladly welcomed four student interns from the College of Teacher Education of Benguet State University on February 17, 2023.

The four student interns are Mr. Ben B. Gomez, Jr. (Filipino), Mr. Brix Lambhert A. Yagyagen (Science), Mr. Jensen F. Paris (English), and Mr. Jhosua Leo T. Andaya (Mathematics). Along with them are Dr. Dolores E. Alawas, the Supervising Professor from BSU and Ms. Rebecca Pangaliman, staff.

Commencing their activities for the day, the student interns visited the offices of the University Vice Presidents. They started the courtesy calls with the VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ana Mirana. She reminded the student interns to find the bigger purpose of their stay at the university. She also told them to enjoy every single bit of their internship experience. The interns then held a courtesy call with the university VP for Admin and Finance, Atty. Dominador Faurillo, CPA. He discussed with the interns some rules and regulations they must observe at the university. Lastly, the interns proceeded to the office of Dr. Ramona Isabel Ramirez, the VP for Research and Innovations, for another courtesy call. She openly discussed with the partner university possible collaborations on research and offered help to the interns with research matters.

As a highlight of their welcome program, the interns proceeded to CBSUA Laboratory High School, the same school where they will be conducting their internship for two months.

The students and faculty members warmly received the interns. Inspirational messages from VPAF, Atty. Faurillo; VPAA, Dr. Mirana; and Campus Administrator, Dr. Celerino Llesol, were delivered to fill their spirits with optimism. Moreover, the program was made more fun with cultural performances from the Grade 10 students.

In the afternoon, the student interns met with their respective cooperating teachers for their orientation.

As the two universities became partner institutions making the exchange programme possible, CBSUA also sent four student-teachers at BSU for their internship.

The interns will be introduced to the whole university during the flag-raising ceremony on Monday.
