STATEANS ‘DUCK, COVER, AND HOLD ON’ DURING EARTHQUAKE EVACUATION SIMULATION

The Resilience Center of the University, headed by Dr. Philip Talay, together with the Emergency Response Team of the University, conducted an earthquake evacuation simulation on November 10, 2022, near the Student Atrium.

At 9:00 a.m., the students attending the Stateans General Assembly at the Students Atrium heard an alarm that signaled them to drop down, take cover and hold on. The Emergency Response Team safely evacuated them to the safest areas of the University.

This initiative is part of the continuing action to intensify the University’s earthquake preparedness.
