Student publications of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) bagged triumphs at the 21st Luzon-wide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) held on March 17–19, 2026, in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The Stateans, the official student publication of CBSUA–Pili Campus, earned both individual and group awards, including 5th Best Cover Design (Luzon-wide) for its literary folio “Arong.” The publication also produced winners in individual categories, with Angelo B. Payra placing 3rd in Poetry Writing (English) and John Kennith E. Rosetes placing 9th in Traditional Literary Graphics Illustration (English), along with several finalists and participants across various writing, illustration, and multimedia events.
Meanwhile, The College Artisans Bulletin of CBSUA–Sipocot Campus also garnered recognition, with its magazine, “NUEVÉ,” winning the 7th Best News Page (Luzon-wide) in the Magazine Category. Student contributors likewise participated in multiple competition categories, proving the campus publication’s active involvement in the conference. The Scanner, the official student publication of CBSUA–Calabanga Campus, also participated in the event, further representing the university in various competition categories.
The three-day event gathered 1,189 delegates from 167 tertiary publications across Luzon, with Bicol Region ranking 5th overall in the combined standings.
The said competition will expand nationwide, with the 1st National Higher Education Press Conference (NHEPC) set to be held in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, next year.
