The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture – Curriculum and Instruction Division (CID) conducted a two-day Training-Workshop on Curriculum Quality Audit and Skills Enhancement for Academic Leaders on April 20–21, 2026, at the Bulwagan Pantanghalan, SWKS Building. The activity aimed to strengthen curriculum alignment, mapping, and evaluation in line with institutional goals and national standards.
Day 1, themed “From Vision to Classroom: Ensuring Coherence and Alignment,” featured sessions by Dr. Rufo Gil Z. Albor from the University of the Philippines Los Baños on curriculum quality, outcomes-based education (OBE), and alignment. Participants examined how programs and courses align with the institution’s vision and national policies.
Dr. Albor also discussed curriculum mapping and coherence, helping participants understand vertical and horizontal alignment and the importance of a logical progression of learning across courses. A workshop followed, allowing participants to collaboratively map out and assess the coherence of their programs.
Day 2, with the theme “From Diagnosis to Action: Strengthening Curriculum Quality,” focused on syllabus audit and enhancement. Dr. Inero V. Ancho from UP Los Baños led discussions on constructive alignment and academic rigor. He also discussed authentic assessment and syllabus design, emphasizing the importance of relevant and meaningful assessment strategies in achieving learning outcomes.
The workshop concluded with hands-on activities on syllabus audit, gap analysis, and action planning, enabling participants to identify areas for improvement and develop concrete steps toward enhancing curriculum quality.
Through this initiative, the office reaffirmed its commitment to empowering academic leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure coherent, aligned, and outcomes-driven curricula.
