CBSUA ESD HOLDS MID-YEAR ASSESSMENT, PLANNING WORKSHOP FOR UNIVERSITY EXTENSION PROGRAMS

The Extension Services Division (ESD) of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) conducted its Mid-Year Performance Assessment and Catch-up Planning Workshop on June 30, 2026, at the Farmers’ Training Hall, CBSUA-Pili, gathering Campus Extension Coordinators, Unit Heads, and Extension personnel to assess the implementation of the University’s extension programs during the first half of the year and map out strategies for the succeeding months.

In her message, ESD Director Ms. Abigail V. Guinoo emphasized the importance of regular performance assessment, collaboration, and effective monitoring in improving the delivery of extension services. She encouraged participants to work together in addressing implementation challenges and aligning extension initiatives with the University’s priorities.

Vice President for Research and Innovation Dr. Dariel A. Palmiano, meanwhile, called on extension implementers to strengthen collaboration among campuses, academic units, and partner stakeholders to deliver more responsive and meaningful community programs. He underscored the need for innovation and stronger partnerships in addressing the evolving needs of communities.

Facilitated by the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Unit (PMEU), the workshop featured presentations of campus accomplishments, gap analysis, identification of priority concerns, and planning sessions. Participants reviewed the status of ongoing extension initiatives, identified implementation issues, and developed action plans to improve program delivery across the University’s campuses.

Among the concerns identified were the need to strengthen planning, monitoring, and reporting systems; improve communication and coordination among campuses; enhance faculty orientation on extension processes and documentation; and maximize available resources despite budget limitations. These served as the basis for the Division’s catch-up plans and succeeding extension activities.

The workshop concluded with the presentation of strategic directions and action plans that will guide the implementation of the University’s extension programs for the remainder of the year. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘯
