Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) has secured the top spot among higher education institutions in the Bicol Region in the 2026 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, marking a significant milestone in its environmental sustainability initiatives.
Nationally, CBSUA placed 23rd among participating Philippine HEIs. Out of 2,016 universities evaluated worldwide, CBSUA ranked 559th globally, placing it within the top 28% of sustainable HEIs globally; a substantial progress from its 848th rank in 2023.
The universityβs advancement reflects strategic investments across its four campuses in Pili, Pasacao, Calabanga, and Sipocot. Institutional priorities include resource conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and integrating sustainability into both the curriculum and research priorities.
University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi credited the university-wide efforts for the achievement, “Earning the top position in Bicol while steadily rising in national and international ranks is proof of the collective dedication of our administrative leadership, faculty, staff, and student body to our pledge to a Green CBSUA.”
