CBSUA, CMPC START TALKS ON SOIL REHABILITATION PROJECT

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and Camsur Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CMPC) held an initial coordination meeting on April 17, 2026, at the CMPC Office, to discuss a proposed collaboration on soil rehabilitation and regenerative farming for cooperative farmer-members.

The proposed project, titled “Soil Rehabilitation and Regeneration Toward Food Sustainability of Camsur Multi-Purpose Cooperative and Farmer Member Production,” aims to strengthen soil health, promote sustainable farming practices, and improve agricultural productivity.

Leading the CMPC delegation was Chief Executive Officer Ms. Annielen L. Panerio, together with Mr. Jorge Fuenzalida Jr., Ms. Eva Hernandez Bocalig, and Ms. Melinda Beltran.

Representing CBSUA were Ms. Abigail V. Guinoo, Director of the Extension Services Division; faculty members from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), particularly from the Soil Science Department; Mr. Sebastian C. Llegado II, BSA Program Chairperson; Ms. Frenemel DLS. Torres, Director of the Organic Agriculture Center; and Prof. Lorena F. Hernandez.

The meeting focused on identifying possible project components, defining roles, and outlining areas for collaboration as both institutions expressed commitment to develop sustainable, research-driven approaches to soil management and food production.

Both parties noted that the initial engagement lays the groundwork for a strengthened partnership geared toward empowering farmer-members through capacity-building initiatives and extension support. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘌𝘚𝘋
