CBSUA-ESD CONVERGES WITH OTHER IMPLEMENTING AGENCIES FOR CFIDP PROVINCIAL LEVEL INFORMATION CARAVAN AND PLANNING WORKSHOP

The CBSUA-Extension Services Division join forces with the Philippine Coconut Authority-Camarines Sur and the Department of Trade and Industry in the conduct of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Provincial Level Information Caravan and Program Planning Workshop with the theme, “Building Collaboration and Commitment for the Coconut Industry Development of Camarines Sur” at the CBSUA Auditorium last March 30-31, 2023.

During the CFIDP Provincial Level Information Caravan, President Alberto Naperi welcomed the participants and emphasized that “…CBSUA will not stop touching the lives of farmers” and committed to the full support of the CFDIP program. Similarly, PCA Regional Manager Mateo Zipagan valued the convergence of different implementing agencies and the Camarines Sur coconut farmers’ attendance in this convergence network. Meanwhile, Division Chief PCA Camarines Sur I, John I. Villareal recalls the struggles of coconut farmers in achieving the privileges and benefits they must be receiving. In the meantime, Mercy R. Salazar, Division Chief I of PCA Camarines Sur II concisely discussed the CFIDP System framework for program coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Successively, the participants were clustered into four groups: food, non-food, agri-trading/marketing, and farming systems for the Program Planning Workshop steered by the CBSUA Faculty-Researchers and ESD Staff with a total of twenty-six (26) coconut farmers’ cooperatives and associations in Camarines Sur were engaged in the said workshop.

The other Implementing Agencies joined at the occasion were the officials from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, Cooperative Development Authority, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the office of the AGRI Party List, and the office of Congressman Tsuyoshi Anthony Horibata.
