In line with the celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Month, the Regional Center for Indigenous Peoples spearheads the launching of the CBSUA Ladawan Center and Museum on October 25, 2022.

True to the commitment to building resilient and sustainable communities, the Regional Center for Indigenous Peoples, headed by Dr. Jesusa Taumatorgo, in partnership with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region V, led by Mr. Agosto Maglunsod, Alpha Phi Omega-Bicol Administrative Region led by Mr. George Gerald Baccay, and Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives of Buhi, Baao, and Iriga celebrated the awaited outcome of their collaboration for the protection and preservation of culture among IP communities.

The University President, Dr. Alberto Naperi, said in his speech that he vows to continue to provide support to the scholars from the IP communities. He also noted that there were already appropriations allocated for the improvement of the museum and that the Agtas are whom he considers his brothers and sisters, indicating his goal for inclusivity.

Ms. Zara Escueta, the keynote speaker during the event, also emphasized the importance of museums and how it contributes to the learning of the people, especially the students.

One of the event’s highlights was the ritual Nay Berta, and her tribe members led.
