The CBSUA-Research and Extension Services Divisions conducted a benchmarking activity in various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSAs) of the Agricultural Training Institute in the Cordillera Administrative Region on October 3-8, 2022.
The SUCs visited were the Pampanga State Agricultural University, Tarlac Agricultural University, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Benguet State University, and two (2) LSAs of ATI-CAR, the Master’s Garden, and the Garden of Life. Before the benchmarking, courtesy calls with the respective SUC Presidents were held at their offices to formally introduce the CBSUA delegates and the purpose of the activity. Each SUC promoted its best practices and innovative strategies in conducting research and community engagement activities to uplift the status of living of their assisted community. They also showcased commendable operations in managing research and innovation centers focusing on various agricultural commodities.
The goal of the activity is to learn from the best practices, innovative projects, and methodologies of the said SUCs towards improving the CBSUA system on research and community engagement for internationalization. This activity also opens an opportunity for the university to establish a linkage and strong partnerships with other SUCs and form collaborations for research and extension programs and projects.
The CBSUA delegates are composed of 21 personnel from the Research Services Division and Extension Services Division from different campuses of the university, headed by Prof. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez, the Vice President for Research and Innovation, Prof. Vladimir. R. Foronda, Director of Extension Services Division and Dr. Aries O. Ativo, the Director of Research Services Division.
