The Philippine Society of Animal Science (PSAS) Bicol Chapter has been officially reactivated, with the election of its new set of officers on November 28, 2025 at the CBSUA Agriville, bringing together representatives from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and the Department of Agriculture to bolster animal science advancement and industry development across the region.
The newly elected officers are:
President: Carlo B. Sabales (CBSUA)
Vice President/President-Elect: Dr. Ilene B. Mirabeles (CBSUA)
Secretary: Hazel A. Isiderio (CBSUA)
Treasurer: Jessa Miraran (Camarines Norte State College)
Auditor: Carmencita I. Portugal (CBSUA)

• Andrian Sola (Bicol University)

The officers took their oath of office before Dr. Rene Santiago, PSAS National President, marking the formal reactivation of the chapter and launching its renewed programs and initiatives.
The PSAS Bicol Chapter will implement three core activities:
• Annual Convention to gather experts, researchers, and industry practitioners;
• Lecture Series to promote continuous technical learning;
• Outreach Program to extend science-based support to communities and farmers.
